3 HVAC Repair Problems
3 HVAC Repair Problems – HVAC units require annual maintenance in order to operate to its full capacity. When maintenance is forgotten, issues start to appear. Some are easy fixes and other HVAC problems can be more costly. The best way to assess damage to your air conditioner is by calling a licensed and trustworthy HVAC company. However, if you’re wondering why your unit isn’t operating efficiently, here are a couple of common issues.
3 HVAC Repair Problems
A/C Blowing Warm or Hot Air
Your air conditioner should always blow cold air if set at the right temperature. If the AC is blowing warm or hot air, your system may have a dirty air filter. The filter should always be the first thing to check. Other problems related to the warm/hot air could be the condensate drain line or the refrigerant might be low or leaking.
Thermostat Isn’t Working Right
If the thermostat isn’t functioning correctly, it’s possible that nothing else with the HVAC system will work right. Think of the thermostat as the brain of the air conditioner unit. First thing first, check that the thermostat has power as it will usually be powered by batteries, a low voltage wire, or both.
The thermostat will not work if there’s no power. If the thermostat has a battery, try replacing it with a new one. Otherwise, the reason for a thermostat malfunction could be a result of low voltage power. Make sure to contact your local HVAC company or give us a call if you’re in Polk County or in Plant City.
Airflow Is Weak
Not enough airflow through your vents? The problem could be cause by dirty ducts or blocked/closed vents. Things such as dust, pet hair, and other debris can clog up vents and air ducts. It is possible that airflow is weak due to the dampers, which are metal plates that control the amount of air flowing through the ducts.
